UMBRÀL ARCHITECTURE

UMBRÀL is an Architectural studio founded in 2021 by Architect Giorgos Kanakis. The studio is based in Athens and focuses on scale and type-diverse projects. Every architectural gesture requires an entanglement with the material and immaterial attributes of the place, and as such, the concept of threshold / umbral acts as the central conceptual and spatial means of design. Transitions and connections, in-between spaces and thresholds, organize the architectural co-existence of artificial and natural elements, the building and its context.
